Deck the Halls With Eco-decorations

Holiday PineconesThanksgiving is just around the corner, and with the turkey and the stuffing comes holiday decorating for many. This year try something new: Make your own eco-decorations.

From pinecones sprinkled with glitter and stars made out of aluminum foil, to strings of popcorn and recycled holiday cards, eco-friendly holiday decorations are limited only by your imagination.

Also think of cute woodland creatures while eco-decorating during the holidays (but not as decorations, of course). Put out an extra string of popcorn for them to munch on. What about a wreath made from dried fruit or a pinecone coated with peanut butter and birdseed? The enjoyment you get form watching the squirrels and birds devour their treats will definitely fill you with holiday cheer.

Making eco-decorations is also a great way to spend time with your family. After all, isn’t that what the holidays are really about?

The great folks over at PlanetGreen have a Top 10 list for holiday decorations you can make from recyclables.

Got an idea for a cool holiday eco-decoration? Submit it in the comments section below. Happy decorating!
